AIM HIGH! Give the Gift of Higher Education
This year, the Des Plaines History Center is dedicating all Giving Tuesday donations to its college scholarship fund in support of high school graduates from Des Plaines.
It is the goal of Des Plaines History Center to award a $1,000 scholarship to a deserving student. All monies raised will go toward that purpose.
Any gift can make a significant difference in the life of a student. According to the Education Data Initiative, the average in-state student attending a public, 4-year institution and living on-campus spends $27,146 for a single academic year. #GivingTuesday, the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, is the global day to celebrate what people and organizations can accomplish together through the power of generosity. Created in 2012 as a way for people to do good, it has grown since into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
