Hands-on History - "Curious Clothes"

  • Des Plaines History Center 781 Pearson Street Des Plaines, IL 60016 United States (map)

Where did people get their clothes from hundreds of years ago? We’ll be looking at the history behind old-fashioned clothes and how people made their own clothes from natural materials like cotton, silk, and wool. We'll try on some old-fashioned outfits, learn how to make felt, and more!

Registration is required to attend "Curious Clothes" and for all Hands-on History for Kids programs moving forward. To register, please call 847-391-5399 or email contact@desplaineshistory.org. Any day-of availability will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

This program is free of charge due to the generosity of our sponsors. Donations are appreciated. The Des Plaines History Center is located at 781 Pearson Street, Des Plaines IL 60016. Hands-On History is a monthly children’s program series meant to invite public participation and interaction with a broad range of historical topics per the History Center’s mission.
