This virtual coffee talk will feature Dr. Annette Bochenek speaking about the spooky side of classic Hollywood. She will present about the production of impactful classic horror films, notable stars of the genre, as well as the legacy of these films and stars today. The program will include a multimedia presentation consisting of photos, video clips, and captivating stories. This program will enable the community to participate from the safety and comfort of their homes during this COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Bochenek explains her love for classic horror movies: “Classic Hollywood horror films are fascinating to explore. They are intriguing atmospheric productions with their own fair share of technical challenges to suspend disbelief among viewers young and old and remain as impactful and as influential as they were upon their release. Moreover, the artistry involved on an individual level among performers is also enticing to examine, as it gave way to many novel techniques in makeup--from the glamorous to the grotesque.”
