All members of the public are invited to the Second Annual Des Plaines History Center Picnic. It is scheduled for Sunday, August 19 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. At 1:00pm sharp, a restored street lamp will be dedicated in memory of late Executive Director Shari Caine. The lamp dedication is open to all members of the public. Immediately following, there will be a ticketed picnic lunch comprised of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and a vegetable. Live entertainment will be provided by folk singer Bucky Halker. Tickets are $15.00 each and available for purchase at the Des Plaines History Center. Children ages 10 and under are free.
