Des Plaines History Center and Elks Lodge plan to ‘jazz it up’ for a second year with a Roaring Twenties-themed fundraiser Sept. 26
Get set for another chance to kick up your heels as the Des Plaines History Center and the Des Plaines Elks Lodge #1526 host “Let’s Jazz It Up!” 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 26. Relive the days of the jazz era with live music, dancing and dinner at the Elks Lodge, 495 Lee St., Des Plaines.

They can also purchase raffle tickets for chances to win a variety of theme baskets and hourly drawings throughout the night. The fun begins with a cash bar cocktail reception at 6 p.m. and goes until the last dance and last call at 10:30 p.m. Period garb is encouraged and elegant décor will set the mood. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Live music and dancing will begin at 8:30 p.m.
Tickets to the event are available by advance-sale only and can be purchased online at desplaineshistorycenter.org or by calling the History Center at (847) 391-5399. Tickets are also available at the Des Plaines Elks Lodge. Proceeds benefit the Des Plaines History Center’s public programs and exhibits and Elks Lodge #1526 charities, which include support for youth activities, overseas troops and veterans. “Let’s Jazz It Up!” is an opportunity to have a great night out while making a meaningful contribution to the work of two community organizations.
